چکیده

We study neutrino masses and mixing in Supersymmetric Models without R parity and with generic soft Supersymmetry breaking terms. Neutrinos acquire mass from various sources: tree level neutrino–neutralino mixing, loop effects and non–renormalizable operators. Abelian horizontal symmetries (invoked to explain the smallness and hierarchy in quark parameters) replace R parity in suppressing neutrino masses. We find lower bounds on the mixing angles: sin θij > ∼ m(l − i )/m(l − j ) (i < j) and unusual order of magnitude predictions for neutrino mass ratios: m(νe)/m(νμ) ∼ sin 2 θ12; m(νi)/m(ντ ) ∼ 10 −7 sin θi3 (i = 1, 2). Bounds from laboratory experiments exclude mντ > ∼ 3 MeV and the cosmological constraint that excludes mντ > ∼ 100 eV is not evaded. Neither the solar nor the atmospheric neutrino problems are likely to be solved by νμ−νe oscillations. These conclusions can be evaded if holomorphy plays an important role in the lepton Yukawa couplings.

Neutrino masses in R-parity violating supersymmetric models

We study neutrino masses and mixing in R-parity violating supersymmetric models with generic soft supersymmetry breaking terms. Neutrinos acquire masses from various sources: Tree level neutrino–neutralino mixing and loop effects proportional to bilinear and/or trilinear R-parity violating parameters. Each of these contributions is controlled by different parameters and have different suppressi...

hep-ph/9903435 Sneutrino Vacuum Expectation Values and Neutrino Anomalies Through Trilinear R-parity Violation

Neutrino mass spectrum is reanalyzed in supersymmetric models with explicit trilinear R violation. Models in this category are argued to provide simultaneous solution to the solar and atmospheric neutrino anomalies. It is shown specifically that large mixing and hierarchical masses needed for the vacuum solution of neutrino anomalies arise naturally in these models without requiring any additio...

A Supersymmetric Solution to the Solar and Atmospheric Neutrino Problems

The simplest unified extension of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with bi-linear R– Parity violation provides a predictive scheme for neutrino masses which can account for the observed atmospheric and solar neutrino anomalies in terms of bi-maximal neutrino mixing. The maximality of the atmospheric mixing angle arises dynamically, by minimizing the scalar potential, while the solar ne...

Supersymmetric Neutrino Masses and Mixing with R-parity Violation

In the context of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, nonzero neutrino masses and mixing can be generated through renormalizable lepton number (and thus R-parity) violating operators. It is examined whether neutrino mass matrices from tree and one-loop contributions can account for two masssquared differences and mixing angles that explain current experimental data. By accommodating, in ...

Neutrino masses and mixing are generated in a supersymmetric standard model when R-parity is violated in bilinear mass terms. The mixing matrix among the neutrinos takes a restrictive form if the lepton flavor universality holds in the R-parity violating soft masses. It turns out that only the small angle MSW solution to the solar neutrino problem is consistent with the result of the CHOOZ expe...
